Winter Solstice

Today we celebrate the winter solstice, which happens to be the shortest day of the year. So why do people celebrate it when it is the darkest day?  Well, instead of looking at the glass half empty our ancestors chose to look at the positive side of things.  From this day forward the sun will be extending its time each day.  It's a unique way of looking at things.  A day that is dark and gloomy is instead called the Holiday of Lights.

It's a day when we look forward to the future and the good things still come.  So enjoy today and remember sunnier days are coming.
